Elizabeth Winston

Professor of Law

Elizabeth Winston is an expert in intellectual property law, teaching Patent Law, Trademarks and Contracts at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.  Prior to teaching, Professor Winston spent three years in private practice where she was involved in intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks and theft of trade secrets.  While in law school, she was managing editor of The Journal of Law and Politics. Two clerkships followed upon her graduation, the first with the Honorable James T. Turner, U.S. Court of Federal Claims followed by two years with the Honorable Paul R. Michel, U. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Professor Winston earned her J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law, and an S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Her most recent publication, The Flawed Nature of the False Marking Statute, is forthcoming in the University of Tennessee Law Review and can be found at:
