Maryanne Cusimano Love

I live on the Chesapeake Bay with my husband and three young children, Maria-6, Ricky-3, and Ava-1.  For fun I play with them, and write children's books.  Seven have been published so far and have been NYT bestsellers.  It's something I do with my kids and they can relate to much more than my academic writing, and unlike the heavy topics I write about in my field of International Relations, in this genre I actually get to write stories that have happy endings.

My professors at St. Joseph's University encouraged me to go on to graduate school, and my grad professors at Johns Hopkins University encouraged me to consider academia.  Misty Gerner of the University of Kansas was a terrific role model in terms of being able to effectively combine the fields of International Relations with religious peace building (she died, too young, of cancer a few years ago).
